If so-how -do I wrap in foil etc. and at what temperature and for how long?

  1. you can wrap it in foil I’d say 350 for maybe 25-30 mins but you can put it in hot water with a spoon of sugar for taste too.

  3. You could, but you can also just boil it for two minutes.

  4. I’d boil it on the stove instead.

  5. If you insist that it be grilled I would use a grill pan over medium high heat, lightly oiled.
You can also wrap in plastic wrap and microwave for 1-2 minutes or boil a large pot of water, drop corn in,cover remove from heat and let sit a few minutes.
It will be perfect any of these ways.

  8. have never baked corn on the cob but I don’t see why you couldn’t. Alternative ways to cook would be to boil the corn or place in the microwave. If microwaving the corn, shuck it and put it on a plate. Figure about 5 – 6 minutes per ear.

  9. The easist way we do it is to take your cleaned corn and place on a plate spinkle a little water on it then cover with saran wrap. Place in microwave for approx 1 min per of ear of corn. Time depends on microwave trial and error. Doing this basicly steams the corn. Some people boil corn on cobs my family thinks that it turns the taste bland. I stay away from using foil because of the flavor transfer. If you do boil have the water come to a boil first then drop in corn for a short time. If you put corn in water first then bring to boil it will be bland.

  10. Our preferred method to prepare corn on the cob for cooking is to carefully peel back the husk & remove the silk. Gently fold the husk back to cover the ear & tie with a cotton string. Place your corn in a large pot full of ice & cold water. From time to time add some more ice. Prepare this a couple hour before you are going to cook the corn.

You can omit the cold water bath & just remove the husk & silk just and cook it, but trust me, it will not taste as crisp & fresh.

TO BOIL Remove the husk & silk, place corn in a large pot, cover with water, boil covered for 3-5 minutes. This is probably the best way for making a quick dinner especially if you are cooking a lot of corn. Not a bad way to cook corn as long as you don’t over cook. Corn should still be a crisp. For sweet corn add 1 Tbsp sugar (or more) to the water.

TO STEAM Remove the husk & silk, steam covered 8-10 minutes.

TO MICROWAVELeave husk on (silk removed) & microwave on high, in a microwave safe dish, covered, 3-4 minutes. Let stand 3 minutes in the microwave. (1 ear)

Husk & silk removed, buttered, in a microwave dish, covered, 4-6 minutes, let stand 3 minutes in the microwave. (2 ears)

To cook 4 ears use the same procedure as above & cook 10-12 minutes, standing 3 minutes.

GRILLED Silk removed, wrap in husk or wrapped in foil, grill over medium coals 15-20 minutes turning a couple times.

BEST In the husk, silk removed, using a medium-high heat place on the grill & cook turning often until the husk is lightly browned on all sides, about 10-15 minutes.

ROASTED Husk & silk removed, buttered & wrapped in foil. Bake at 375 F for 30 minutes. Can be baked along with potatoes or your roast.
