Uh, a bit of advice: if you do find an empty "oil drum", you better make damn sure you know what was inside before, and wash it out...thoroughly...with NON-FLAMMABLE cleanser. You go cutting up a drum without knowing what used to be inside, and you could get a really nasty ...

Please help me by answering this question.
The wood chips they sell in stores are for smoking food. They can be used but will burn up very quickly. If you have some dry oak or other hardwood, you could use it instead of charcoal.
