if you don’t want the trouble of mailing it, craigslist is the way to go. in your listing, make it clear that the grill is brand new and unopened, and i say $200 or best offer is a good price, $125 is too low for something brand new.

I have a Char Broil barbeque propane grill that has a piece of metal sheet between the burner and the grill and helps distribute the heat better. The sheet metal has rusted out and needs to be replaced.

My question; is it safe to replace this piece of sheet metal with a piece of galvanized sheet metal (which is normally used for roof flashing)? My concern is that the galvanized sheet metal may release some toxins when subjected to high temperatures and release toxins to the food?

Propane burns at 1977 °C, and the melting point of the zinc that is probably your galvanizing agent is only 419.53 °C. It’s not safe to use zinc galvanized steel in this application. Plain sheet steel should be fine.

I have a Weber Performer charcoal grill. It has a gas ignition so the charcoal can be lit without having to use a chimney starter or charcoal lighter fluid. I love it. I got one for my birthday about 4 years ago from Ace hardware.

I also have a Weber Baby Q gas grill that I like use when grilling quick items, like shrimp, chicken breasts, or kabobs. I got this one from amazon.com

Go to http://www.weber.com to get more info about the grills they have. I think they are the most reliable whether charcoal or gas. You can also click on find a dealer and enter the type of grill and your zipcode to see where you can purchase a Weber grill.

We bought a barbeque grill many years ago…like more than 5 years ago and we still have never used it. Not even once. My mom, being extremely asian, thinks it will explode since we have never used it. We want to use it this summer to have a barbeque but we want to be safe. Is there anything we should be worried about?

Unlikely to explode, unless you leave it untended when there’s a roaring fire on the grates and pan that ignites the propane tank.

Hopefully you’ve had a good cover on it, or kept it inside somewhere all this time. If it’s been exposed to the elements, uncovered for 5 years, you probably will need a new one. I highly recommend Weber; my first bbq was a Weber and my current is a Weber Genesis; bought from Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH) store on a no-tax sale day.

You need to:
-refill your propane tank
-thoroughly clean (dust) the inside & outside
-spiders often like to crawl into bbq’s, especially the inner workings (the tubes from the burners to the grates). To clean this area use a long pipe cleaner and insert it into the tube (when the bbq is off and the gas is off!).

Find the owner’s manual if you have one and read the sections on maintenance.

Enjoy bbq’ing.

DON"T use cotton balls.

Use newspaper under the charcoal.

Or better yet use a charcoal starter. The are about 10 bucks at wal-mart in the out door section.

Put the briquets in the top then wad up some news paper and give a litttle squirt of starter place in the inder part and light. Let them burn down and then pour into your grill.
