I know its due to the high temperature, but why cant we just heat up a fry pan for a while, and sear the steaks in there? Does it not get as hot? It doesnt make sense that it wouldnt considering the heat is directly underneath.

Wouldn't putting some sort of grill or screen prevent the birds from entering the jet engine thereby destroying it in the process?

I'm not saying they're dry to the point that i wouldn't eat them but they can stand to be a bit more juicy. My family usually just seasons the meat before grilling. No other methods are done.
They are cooking it too long.
Reduce the cooking time a bit.

my apartment complex says propane only but I have a gas grill..can I not use it?
Technically, the gas grill would be connected to a natural gas line, the propane runs off a propane tank.
