Would any gas grill work with a 2.5 gallon propane tank? Or what do I need?

Because of a new city law the biggest tank we’re allowed to have is 2.5 gallons in our apartment. We have a charcoal grill that we just gave up. We want to get a gas grill, can we just buy any grill or do we have to buy a specific one since the tank can’t be more then 2.5 gallons?

Even the largest grills do not consume that much fuel that you would run out. The key importance here is that you should have the right fittings. Most portable grills only let you hook up the small cylinders that are good for maybe one or two cook outs. They don’t burn very hot either. You can get a smaller tank and still use a normal sized grill. I would go with at least 25k BTU grill .
Best thing to do is that take that grill hose with you when you go out to buy the tank or vice versa so you know you are getting a match.
