Steak only needs 3 things; sea salt or kosher salt, cracked pepper, and canola oil. Canola oil has a higher smoke point, so it’ll sear faster on the grill, and the cooking time will be shorter.

for a quick and easy ribeye recipe, try soya sauce and garlic powder; maybe some black pepper, and the steak will be through the roof! try it!

I’ll grant that the “reality tv” approach isn’t the best way to go, even those chefs competing have usually (though not always I’ll admit) spent a lot of time working and building their skills. Most of them have had restaurants of their own for years.

  4. well, they did sort …
well, they did sort of give it to “just anybody” with that next iron chef reality show. i hate that they did that. the original iron chefs worked their butts off for a lot of years to be tops in their respective fields to earn that title, so to just have it reduced to picking a chef from a reality show, i didnt like that at all. to me, it cheapens it

Hey if that’s your preference then cool. My wife used to hate the idea of putting *anything* on a steak. As for me … One of the things I like about there being so many ways to fix something is occasionally trying different stuff. Everybody’s got their favorites and most of ‘em are pretty good.

Weeellllll I wouldn’t quite go THAT far! But I do agree that the man knows what he’s doing. There’s a reason that the title “Iron Chef” isn’t given to “just anybody”.

    That looks great. …
That looks great. The only change I’d make is to swap the bleu cheese for a good aged swiss or muenster, but that’s only because I’ve never been able to tolerate bleu cheese… To me it isn’t food.
