What is the difference between indoor grilling (other than the marks on the food) and frying in a fry pan?

Other than the grill marks, I can see no difference between indoor grilling and non fat frying. Anyone want to take a shot at explaining?

indoor grilling is going to add a bit to the flavor, but grilling is really about the "event" or the experience. you just can’t get that indorrs.

  1. Flavor

  2. Frying in a pan has more direct contact with the food. A grill pan or an indoor grill allows the smokey flavor given off by the food to accumulate under the meat and add a lil extra flavor. Also it does look prettier I think. :)

grilling is a dry heat with drippings falling off meat and adding to flavour frying pan keeps fat and/drippings with meat . Grilling and / or broiling is more flavourful and more healthy

it’s just according to taste. some doctors have said that the grease adds trans fats to your food even if the grease does not contain trans fats. but other doctors say its the blackened part on the outside of your grilled meat that causes colon cancer. If your going to died, die happy. if it tastes and looks good EAT IT.

  5. if you use a two sided grill like the george forman type it cooks twice as fast since it cooks both sides at the same time. also the fat drains away while cooking
