portable gas grill?

Can someone tell me if this is normal for a gas grill to shoot out flame on the little hole between the tank and the burner from time to time? please click on the link below to see the image where i circled in red. that’s that hole and when i use the grill, the flame shoots out on that hole from time to time. if it’s not normal, what is the purpose for that hole?

Not normal and dangerous. This happened to me and I thought the whole thing was going to explode. I took it apart and cleaned out all the little holes where the flame is supposed to come out and and made sure nothing else was plugged up. I put it back together and it’s working fine now.

NO! If you are seeing flames here you have a bad connection that is potentially explosive. Replace any parts between the tank and the burner or better yet replace the whole unit

  3. Could be that some of the holes in your burners are clogged causing the back pressure. Check to make sure the tank s secured correctly to the unit. If it continues after all is checked, I’d replace the entire grill.
